Happy Halloween or Christmas?

Monday, November 3, 2008

Our family's Halloween costume theme this year was Christmas. Aidan was dying to be Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, and yet refused to wear his cool blinking light nose that Jason made from an LED light.

Carter wanted to Santa but also Frankenstein, so he decided to be Frankenstein dressed up like Santa. However, every house he went to someone remarked on his great "Grinch" costume. Keaton was a gingerbread man and actually kept his hood on all night. Jason was an elf, and it is still be debated as to weather or not it was a more emasculating costume than "Wee Willie Winkie". I was Mrs. Claus.
We had a great time trick-or-treating all around the neighborhood, and loved our stop at the "crazy halloween house". We then had our annual Halloween party on Nov. 1st. We had a large group (8 families in our little house!) and we ate chili, corn bread, apple bars, finger cookies, buffalo chicken dip, and a garbanzo bean chocolate cake (for Carter and surprisingly good). Here are some pics of us on Halloween and the night of the party.

I love the Christmas theme for the costumes!!!! Carter pulled-off his Frankenstein/Santa look with ease, Aidan was an adorable reindeer, and Keaton is just cute enough to eat!

It sounds like you had quite the spread for your big party---- we sure miss all of your great food (and great company)!!!!!!!!!
